Event overview
Clipston Trail Races take place on 20 September 2026 at Clipston Recreation Ground, Station Road, Clipston, Market Harborough LE16 9RN. The event includes two distances:
- Half Marathon
- Country 5 Miler (approximately 5 miles)
Entry fees are £25.00 for the Half Marathon and £18.00 for the Country 5 Miler. Competitors must be at least 17 on the day. The event is organised with the Clipston Recreation Field Trust; funds raised will be used for maintenance of the playing fields and facilities, including replacement of the tennis courts. Homemade cakes are provided by the Clipston W.I., and medals are awarded to all finishers.
Course and race information
Both courses start from the area opposite the pavilion in Clipston and quickly climb into the surrounding countryside. Routes follow bridleways and footpaths with short sections on minor country roads; the final section from Kelmarsh back to Clipston is on a footpath. The total ascent on the half marathon route is 237 m. There are four water stations on the half marathon route and one on the 5-miler; participants are asked to bring a reusable cup for refills. The race crosses working farms and is not suitable for canicross. Free parking is available in the field opposite the recreation ground.
