Clipston Trail Races - Clipston Recreation Ground
The event offers two waymarked trail races across countryside around Clipston, with routes that run on bridleways, footpaths and short sections of minor country roads. The course starts opposite the pavilion and initially climbs into open farmland and woodland, with a total height gain of 237 m and views across the Northamptonshire landscape. The final section from Kelmarsh back to Clipston follows a footpath.
The event is organised in conjunction with the Clipston Recreation Field Trust, a charity responsible for maintaining the playing fields, pavilion and local outdoor facilities. Money raised contributes to ongoing maintenance and improvements, including replacement of the tennis courts when needed.
Distances
- Half Marathon entry fee £25
- Country 5 mile entry fee £18
Practical information includes on-course water stations (four on the half marathon, one on the 5 mile) and a request that runners bring a reusable cup. Competitors must be at least 17 on race day. Numbers and timing chips are collected on race morning; race packs are not posted. Free parking is available in the field opposite the recreation ground. Because the route crosses working farms, the event is not suitable for canicross. All finishers receive a medal and homemade cakes provided by the Clipston W.I.
