DECU Glow Run
The DECU Glow Run is a night running and walking event held to support the Empowerment Opportunity Center. The race takes place in Forsyth, Illinois, with the course primarily following the bike paths within Forsyth Park. The route is lit and visibly marked for the evening setting, and volunteers are stationed along the path to provide directional assistance.
Participants can choose from the following distance:
- 3.1 Miles
Registered participants receive a t-shirt and glow items, though these items are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are encouraged to wear glow gear, as a gift card award is given for the brightest attire. Following the completion of the race, food and drinks are provided for those who took part.
In terms of competitive recognition, medals are awarded to the first-place male and female finishers. Packet pickup is organized at two different locations leading up to the event, including the Decatur Earthmover Credit Union location and Forsyth Park.
