Event Overview
The DECU Glow Run for Empowerment Opportunity Center is a community evening event held in Forsyth, Illinois. This event supports the Freedom Reins program and invites participants to complete the course through running or walking. The primary focus of the event is a themed night run where participants are encouraged to wear luminous gear.
Course Information
The run takes place within Forsyth Park. The route consists primarily of the local bike path. To ensure visibility and safety during the evening hours, the course is lit and clearly marked with signage. Volunteers are stationed throughout the layout to assist with directions and participant safety.
Race Features and Participation
Participants who register by the end of May are guaranteed a commemorative T-shirt and glow items. These materials are otherwise distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The event includes the following distances and awards:

Medals are awarded to the first-place male and female finishers. Additionally, a "Dress to Impress" contest recognizes the participant with the brightest glow gear, with a gift card awarded as a prize. Following the completion of the run, food and drinks are provided for participants. Packet pickup is available on the day before the event at the Decatur Earthmover Credit Union Dividend location and at the park on the day of the run.
