AdventHealth Clermont Clay 15K & 5K
The AdventHealth Clermont Clay 15K & 5K takes place in Clermont, Florida, utilizing the off-road clay trails of South Lake County. The event features hilly terrain on a surface frequented by regional and international runners. Both timed distances follow an out-and-back format on 5 Mile Road, starting and finishing at the same location on the clay road.
Available race distances include:
- 15 km (9.3 miles)
- 5 km (3.1 miles)
Participants in the 15 km event must maintain a minimum pace of 16 minutes per mile to complete the course within the two-and-a-half-hour time limit. For safety, the course is restricted to registered participants only. No pets are permitted on the course, although service dogs are allowed if organizers are notified in advance. Jogging strollers are permitted but must line up at the back of the starting pack; participants should note the off-road nature of the clay surface.
Aid stations are located approximately at miles 1.5, 3, and 4.6. These stations provide water, electrolytes, and energy gels. Because of the out-and-back configuration, 15 km runners pass these stations five times. All participants receive a chip-timed bib, a gender-specific singlet, and a finisher's medal. Post-race snacks and beverages are provided at the finish line, and an awards ceremony recognizes top finishers in various age categories.
A virtual option is also available for those unable to attend the live event. Virtual participants can log their results within two weeks of the race date and will receive their packets via mail within the United States. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
