Multi-Discipline Sporting Event at Clear Lake
The Clear Lake Sprint and Olympic Triathlon takes place in Fremont, Indiana, staged from the Clear Lake Pub and Beach. This event features several categories, including full triathlons, duathlons, aquabike races, and relay options for teams of two or three people. The swimming portion occurs in Clear Lake, which is characterized by a sandy beach and a gradual entry, followed by a stair climb to reach the transition area.
Participants can choose from the following distances and formats:
- Sprint Triathlon: 500 yard swim, 12 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
- Olympic Triathlon: 1650 yard swim, 24.8 mile bike, and 6.2 mile run.
- Sprint Duathlon: Run and bike format for individual participants.
- Olympic Duathlon: Run and bike format for individual participants.
- AquaBike: Individual swim and bike categories for both Sprint and Olympic distances.
- Relay Options: Competitive team participation for two or three members.
The cycling portion consists of flat to rolling terrain, utilizing sections of established local triathlon courses. While the bike course is generally flat, the Olympic distance includes more rolling hills than the Sprint distance. The running segment is designed to be flat and fast, following town roads along Clear Lake that provide protection from the wind. Local amenities at the race site include food and beverage options for purchase at the Clear Lake Pub. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
