IncredibleBank Clear For Takeoff 5K, June 27, 2026
The IncredibleBank Clear For Takeoff is a 5K held as part of Wings Over Wausau and Wausau's BIG Weekend on June 27, 2026. The route is run entirely on the taxiways and runways of the historic Wausau Downtown Airport and passes alongside vintage and contemporary static display aircraft.
Participants run on runway and taxiway pavement and start and finish near the hangars inside the airport, with the finish area located close to the pancake breakfast. Aircraft pilots and owners will be present along the route. Members of various branches of the US Armed Forces will also take part and run alongside other participants. An awards ceremony follows the race and a swearing in ceremony for new military recruits takes place after awards.
Registration is $35 in advance and $40 on race day with the event shirt not guaranteed for race day registrations. All registrations include a pancake breakfast coupon, a goodie bag and an event shirt. No wheels or dogs are allowed; walkers and strollers are asked to remain at the back. Enter the event through the Elmwood Boulevard gate for registration and packet pick-up on June 27. Early packet pick-up is scheduled for the evening of June 26 between 5 PM and 7 PM in Alexander Airport Park. Parking is available on city streets. Age groups are 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69 and 70 and over. The event will proceed in rain or shine unless there is severe weather.
