About the race
The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes presents a day of timed road races and guided hikes in the Shaker Lakes Parklands in Cleveland on September 13, 2026. Road events include chip timing for the 5k, 10k, and the 1 Mile Run/Walk. Guided hikes explore local trails with varied terrain and durations.
Distances offered include:
- 1 Mile 1 Mile Run Walk
- 3.1 Miles 5k Run Walk
- 6.2 Miles 10k Run
- 1 to 2 miles ADA accessible family friendly hike
- 4 to 6 miles Gorge hike, varied terrain
- 3 to 5 miles Rim of the Gorge hike
- 1 to 2 miles Botany hike with a botanist
Registration fees vary by event. Children under 2 are free. Several events list reduced child fees; some longer hikes list a different child fee for ages 10 to 12. Many hikes are led by the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes; the botany hike is led by a Rust Belt Riders guide. Leashed dogs are allowed on hikes and runs when they remain near the back. Awards include cash prizes for top overall finishers in the 5k and 10k and age group medals in road races.
