Shaker Lakes Hike & Run
The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes hosts an annual Hike & Run at the Shaker Lakes Parklands in Cleveland, Ohio on September 13, 2026. The event combines chip-timed road races and guided hikes across local parklands and trails.

- 1 Mile Run/Walk (chip-timed)
- 5k Run/Walk (3.1 Miles; chip-timed; awards)
- 10k Run (6.2 Miles; chip-timed; awards)
- ADA accessible 1-2 Mile family hike (guided; leashed pets welcome)
- 1-2 Mile Botany hike (guided; includes dirt trails and stairs)
- 3.5 Miles Rim of the Gorge hike (moderate; varied terrain)
- 5-6 Mile Gorge hike (strenuous; varied terrain)
The road races use chip timing and include awards: $100 cash for top overall male and female in the 5k and 10k, and cookie medals for age-group top three male and female in the 5k and 10k. The 1 Mile awards recognize the top three overall male and female.
Guided hikes are led by the Nature Center and partner organizations, with varied durations and difficulty levels noted for each hike. Child pricing and age recommendations vary by event; some events list children under two free and specific fees for ages three to twelve or ten to twelve. Fundraising incentives offer refunded entry fees and merchandise at set fundraising thresholds, and 100% of donations go to the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes.
