Circle the Bay 30K
The event is a 30 kilometer (18.6 mile) course that begins and ends at Ferry Road Park in North Bend. The route follows the Coos Bay waterfront and continues around the bay through Eastside. It is offered as an individual 30K run or as a three person relay with each team running one leg.
The three relay legs differ in profile: the first leg is relatively flat, the second is moderately rolling, and the third contains the most climbing. Water is provided at the exchange points, approximately every six miles. There are plumbed toilets at the start and finish area and port a potties at the exchanges.
Entry fees are listed as follows: individual 30K $75 and team relay 30K (three people) $225. Additional participants may join a team for $75 per person; those additional participants are not eligible for awards. Prices shown are for the entire team and the team captain registers the team with other members joining afterward. A registered individual 30K participant may run the first relay leg without extra charge.
Age divisions are specified for individual entries and relay teams. Individual age groups include 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, and then 10 year age classes. Relay categories include all men, all women, and mixed, with team age classes such as open, masters, and grandmasters.
Shirts are provided to racers who register by July 18. A post race barbecue and beverages are offered to participants, volunteers, and supporters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
