Cinco De Mile
Cinco De Mile is an inaugural community run presented by Mt. Madonna Challenge, La Ofrenda Festival, and Esfuerzo at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy, CA. The event combines running on local trails and paths with a cultural festival focused on arts, culture and wellness.
Distances include:
- 10K
- 5K
- 5K Ruck
- 1 mile for ages 10 and under
Most of the courses use the levee and sidewalks, with minor road crossings for the 10K. The 5K and 5K Ruck take place on designated paths. The kids' one-mile run is two loops around Christmas Hill beneath the redwood trees. An updated route is noted as forthcoming. Timing will be provided by SVE Timing using chip timing through bib.
After the races the community gathers at Christmas Hill Park for a Mariachi and Folklorico showcase, a youth soccer clinic, arts, culture and wellness vendors, and food by La Patrona Cocina Mexicana. The kid's one-mile race is free and participants receive a goodie bag; meal tickets are available for purchase for post-race food.
Registration proceeds, merchandise sales, sponsorships, and donations will be distributed among the three presenting organizations. Funds support the Mt. Madonna Scholarship for local high school cross country runners to attend the Max King Trail Running Camp, La Ofrenda Festival programming, and Esfuerzo community initiatives. Registration closes on Sun, Apr 26 at 11:59 PM PT. No refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
