Event
The Cinco de Mayo race takes place in Portland, Oregon, with event dates from April 25 to May 10, 2026. In-person race day events are held at Sellwood Riverfront Park in Southeast Portland. Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Kids Fun Run
- Cinco de Mayo Virtual Run
Finishers are greeted at the finish area with warm, cheesy quesadillas. The official race charity partner is Go The Distance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that advocates for sobriety through fitness and partnerships with local rehabilitation centers.
Race details
Pre-race packet pick-up is available on May 2, 2026 at Road Runner Sports, 29 NW 23rd Pl, Portland, OR 97210. There is a limited race-morning bib pick-up near the start line for extenuating circumstances. Race day start and finish are at Sellwood Riverfront Park; some parking is available there and paid parking is offered at Oaks Amusement Park for $5. Additional neighborhood parking is possible.
Race Village near the start/finish will have water, snacks, portable toilets, hand-washing stations, and swag for purchase. Gear check is available for runners wearing bib numbers and requires a bag labeled with the bib number. Aid stations appear roughly every 2-3 miles and will provide water, sports drink, GU gels, and gummy bear chews; toilets and first aid kits will be located at aid stations and Race Village. The half marathon has a 4-hour finish requirement. Awards are given 1st-3rd overall male and female for each distance and 1st place in listed age groups; awards can be shipped for a $10 fee.
