CHSFW Rubber Ducky : event description
The CHSFW Rubber Ducky is an annual race offering three distances: a 5K, a 7 mile course, and a half marathon (21.1K). The listed edition takes place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Burnaby Lake Regional Park, with the start/finish at Sperling Ave, Burnaby BC.
The course circles Burnaby Lake on natural trails and is routed through a wildlife sanctuary inside the city. The lake area offers opportunities to view birds and other animals. For this event the 7 mile and half marathon courses circle the lake counter clockwise; the organizer runs a spring race that circles it clockwise.
The event uses tag timing; participants attach the timing tag to their shoe laces and must return the tag after the race to avoid a charge. Results are intended to be posted within 24 hours. There are two water stations positioned about 5K apart on opposite sides of the lake. A bag check is offered by donation near the start/finish and the course has a three-hour open window.
Registration is available online and in-person with tiered fees. The standard race package can include a souvenir medal, a swag item while supplies last, individual timing, post-race snacks, a race bib, participant insurance, and random prizes. The event supports the Charlford House Society for Women. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
