About the race
The 19th annual Rubber Ducky Race takes place on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at Burnaby Lake Regional Park, West Field #2 next to the playground in Burnaby, BC.
Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 7 Mile
- Half Marathon (21.1K)
The 7 Mile and Half Marathon courses circle Burnaby Lake counter clockwise and follow trails through the regional park, a designated wildlife sanctuary. The lake and surrounding area provide opportunities to view birds and other animals along the route. Two water stations are placed about 5K apart on opposite sides of the lake.
This is a tag timed event. Participants receive individual timing; timing tags must be attached to shoe laces using the provided zaps and returned after the race to avoid a $40 charge. Race bibs should be worn on the front of the body. Results are intended to be posted within 24 hours. Awards are given for 1st through 3rd overall female and male; recipients must be present to claim awards. Bag check is available by donation at the charity table.
Race packages, while supplies last, include a souvenir finishing medal, one souvenir swag selection with a Try Events Reusable Bag, after event snacks, participant insurance, random prizes, and a race bib. Registration uses tiered fees, online registration closes one week prior to race day or when the supply cap is reached, and in-person day of registration is offered space permitting.
