CHSFW Rubber Ducky

The CHSFW Rubber Ducky is an annual running event held at Burnaby Lake Regional Park in British Columbia. Now in its 19th year, the race takes place within a wildlife sanctuary located in the center of the city. The event offers three distinct distances for participants:

  • 5K
  • 7 Mile
  • Half Marathon (21.1 km)

The Half Marathon and 7 Mile courses circle Burnaby Lake in a counter-clockwise direction. The routes utilize the trail system around the lake, which was formed by a glacier 12,000 years ago, providing opportunities to observe local birds and wildlife in a wilderness environment. The start and finish area is located at Sperling Avenue.

The event features tag timing for individual results, and the course remains open for a total of 3 hours. Two water stations are positioned along the route, spaced approximately 5 km apart on either side of the lake. Participants receive a race bib, participant insurance, finishing snacks, and a souvenir medal. A bag check service is available at the start/finish area by donation.

Awards are presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female finishers in each distance category. The event is organized in partnership with the Charlford House Society for Women. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
