Christmas Pudding Dash

The Christmas Pudding Dash is a multi-terrain race held in the village of Pett, located near Hastings in East Sussex. Now in its 20th year, the event takes place across local farmland and woods. The terrain consists of an undulating, muddy cross-country trail.

Participants can choose from several distance options:

  • 5 Mile (The single loop course is approximately 4.2 miles)
  • 2 Mile Fun Run
  • Junior Run (also referred to as the Drumsticks Scurry)

The event course is a single loop that features significant mud and scenic views of the Sussex countryside. In addition to the racing categories, there is a prize awarded for the best-dressed runner participating in festive fancy dress. Leading runners are eligible for trophies and prizes, and all participants receive a bespoke medal and access to free race photographs.

The race serves as a fundraiser for Shelter, a charity dedicated to defending the right to a safe home and supporting those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. After the run, refreshments including mince pies are provided.

The event is held at Pett Village Hall. Limited parking is available at the hall on a first-come, first-served basis, with further parking available within the village. While train stations are located in Three Oaks, Ore, and Hastings, these are several miles from the start line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
