Seasonal Running Event at Deming Park
Christmas in the Park is an annual athletic event held in Terre Haute, Indiana. Managed by the Wabash Valley Road Runners, the race takes place within the grounds of Deming Park. The event serves as a fundraiser, with 50% of the proceeds donated to the Clothe a Child organization.
The event features two primary distances:
- 5 km (Run or walk)
- 1 mile (Reindeer Romp for youth)
The 5 km distance is open to both adult and youth participants, with separate categories for runners and walkers. Participants who register as walkers are required to walk the entire distance to maintain the integrity of the competitive walking category. The 1 mile Reindeer Romp is specifically designed for younger participants.
Registered participants can collect their race packets on the morning of the event at the Torner Center, located inside the park. Those who complete their registration by the designated November deadline are eligible to receive an event t-shirt.
Recognition is provided for various achievements in the 5 km race. Awards are presented to top overall finishers, and age group awards are distributed based on 5-year increments. A specific awards category is also maintained for participants in the walker division. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
