Christalis Superhero 5k Run/Walk
The event is a Superhero themed 5k run/walk held at Washington Adventist University Commons in Takoma Park, MD. Proceeds support the children in Christalis programs. The course follows Sligo Creek Parkway and Sligo Creek Trail and includes two water stations.
Participants registered by September 14 are guaranteed a T-shirt and finisher medal; T-shirts are provided only to registrants who start the race. All race participants receive pre- and post-race snacks, hot drinks, and on-site activities for kids and adults. Packet pick-up takes place at the registration tent on the WAU Commons.
Entry fees are listed as $35 preregistration, $40 day-of, and $7 for the Little Hero Dash; undergraduate students receive a $10 discount with a student ID. Timing uses shoe chips that must be returned after the race; a $3 fee applies if a chip is not returned.
Awards and prizes include top three overall male and female finishers, age-group awards (top two males and females) across multiple brackets, age-based prizes for the Little Hero Dash, and a best superhero costume contest with several age categories.
