Event details
The Chopwell Woods Summer Trail Runs take place on 27 June 2026 at Chopwell Woods, Rowlands Gill, NE39 1LT, on the fringe of Gateshead. The venue is a Forestry England site set within 360 hectares of mixed woodland. The event is organised by Wild Deer Events and offers timed trail races with live chip timing provided by Timing Up North.

The event is Canicross friendly: one controlled dog per runner is allowed. Entrants must be aged 15 or over on 27 June 2026.
Additional information
All finishers receive an event medal, a burger or alternative, and a beer or soft drink. Free on-site parking is available, but spaces are very limited. Registration opens 26 September 2025 and closes 24 June 2026. Published entry fees range from £26 to £28 depending on distance. A 5 mile route map is provided by the organiser.
