Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge
The Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge is a looped trail event taking place on Saturday, 26 September 2026. The start and finish point is the Henley Showground basecamp in Henley.
Participants can choose from multiple distances:
- 50 km with approximately 920 meters of elevation.
- 25 km with approximately 500 meters of elevation.
- 10 km with approximately 235 meters of elevation.
The route passes through Chilterns countryside, featuring historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves, and varied scenery. It is described as easily accessible from London.
The event includes several support services. Food and drink are provided at rest stops approximately every 12.5 km, with main meals at larger stops. The route is marked with signage and GPS tracking is available via a mobile app. Medical, podiatry, and massage teams are present at rest stops.
On-site facilities at the Henley basecamp include a Saturday night celebration meal, a bar, camping options, and parking. Shuttle bus transfers to and from the nearest train station are available.
Participants can enter as individuals or teams. Specific start categories include a Solo Challenger start time for individuals wanting to meet others. For 2026, there is a new Ultra Trailblazerz category for competitive runners aiming for specific time goals, and an Ultra March category for walkers aiming to complete 50 km in under 12 hours or 100 km in under 24 hours.
