Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge

The Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge is a looped trail event based at Henley Showground in the Chilterns, scheduled for Sat 26 Sept 2026. The event offers three measured loop distances from the Henley basecamp.

  • 50 km loop, ~920 m elevation, Henley Showground start and finish
  • 25 km loop, ~500 m elevation
  • 10 km loop, ~235 m elevation

Routes run on historic trails and rolling hills and pass through nature reserves and viewpoint sections. The route is fully signed with directional arrows and GPS tracking available through the event app. Participants are scanned at rest stops for timing and progress monitoring.

Support infrastructure includes covered rest stops approximately every 12.5 km, larger stops at main intervals, and catering with regular snacks, main meals every 25 km, hot drinks, water and energy drinks. Medical provision includes doctors, paramedics, first aiders, podiatrists and masseuses stationed at rest stops and roaming the route; self help supplies such as blister plasters are provided at stops.

Henley basecamp includes on-site camping packages with hot showers, parking and a Saturday evening meal and bar. Finish-line items for participants include a medal, finisher t shirt, a glass of fizz and a finish-line photograph. Additional participation categories include an Ultra March option for walkers and a Trailblazerz category for faster competitive runners.
