Chilterns 30km - Run The Wild
The Chilterns 30 is a one day trail running event covering 30 km (18 miles) on waymarked trails through the Chiltern Hills. The route includes rolling hills with around 500 m of ascent and passes through woodland, ridge lines and villages near Tring.
The event departs from the Iron Room Hall close to Tring station, which is about a three minute walk from the start. The location is roughly 40 minutes north west of London by train from Euston. Paid parking is available at Tring station and limited on-street free parking may be possible.
Participants are grouped by ability. The organiser advises runners to be on their feet for around five hours, to have previously run close to a half marathon distance, and to be able to run roughly 7 km in an hour on the flat. Spaces are limited to 50 participants.
Included in the entry are trail technique instruction from experienced guides, information about the local area and environment, a well stocked checkpoint, bag storage, a refreshment point, a Run Leader, a Run the Wild finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees certificate. Personal travel, parking charges and personal insurance are not included. A mandatory kit list is provided by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
