Event overview

The Chilly Cheeks Duathlon is scheduled for February 21, 2026, at Cherry Creek State Park, starting and finishing at the Hobie Hill area near the park's West Entrance in Englewood, Colorado (4800 S Dayton St). The event follows the traditional Run-Bike-Run format with the following distances:

  • 2.5 miles run
  • 2.5 miles run
  • approximately 11 miles bike

The race will be contested regardless of winter conditions; the organizer may change distances, course, or format if weather warrants.

Course, logistics and awards

The run course is an out-and-back on a mix of road, paved bike path, and dirt path. The bike course is entirely paved but may have snow, sand, or ice depending on weather. The organizer provides a marked and marshaled course, chip timing, and light refreshments, including banana chocolate chip bread. The run course includes an aid station passed twice near the one-mile points.

Awards are given in Open and Fat Tire categories by age divisions (29 & Under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+), and for relay teams. Fat Tire requires tires 2.0 inches or wider. Relays consist of one runner and one biker; first-place relay awards are given in Male, Female, and Coed categories. Early registrants (before February 1) receive Chilly Cheeks sweat pants with entry; a "No Pants for Me" option saves $10. Registration age minimums apply for individual and relay entries.
