Event details
The event is organized by CUSS Running and takes place in Palatine, IL, at Deer Grove Forest Preserve West. Distances offered include:
- 50 Miler - 9 laps
- 50K - 6 laps
- 25K - 3 laps
- 10K - 1 lap plus extra
Registration closes on Sun, Mar 15 at 11:59 PM CT.
Course and race format
Most of the trail is a wide path with little technical terrain. There is a single aid station at the start/finish that is on course every 5.5 miles. Crews may set up only at the start/finish area. Fifty-mile entrants may use a pacer after four loops. The cutoff time for all distances is 8 PM. Organizers note there will be informal activities described as "shenanigans" during the day.
Inclusion and policies
The event offers a limited number of free entries for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ athletes while funds last; these are not need-based and are distributed without public disclosure. The organizer accepts each entrant’s declared gender at face value. Non-binary entrants can request record changes after registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
