Child Advocates Superhero Run
The Child Advocates Superhero Run takes place on October 17, 2026 at CityCentre Houston as the 14th annual event to raise funds and awareness for the fight against child abuse. The run is presented by Child Advocates and features both a timed fun run/walk and a separate kids event. Since 2013 the Superhero Run has raised over $1,200,000 for Houston's effort to support abused children.

Child Advocates is a volunteer-driven organization that has worked with Houston's abused children since 1984. Advocates provide the court with recommendations about permanent living arrangements, maintain contact with foster parents, biological parents, therapists, Child Protective Services caseworkers, and court-appointed attorneys, and help ensure children receive medical and psychological care. Volunteers also meet with teachers and principals, offer emotional support such as hugs and birthday celebrations, and serve as a consistent presence while children are in care.
Logistical resources for the event include a 5K course map and an FAQ addressing staging groups, first-aid and hydration stations, parking, restrooms, race results, photography, and weather or unforeseen event policies.
