Child Advocates Superhero Run
The Child Advocates Superhero Run is the 14th annual charity run held on October 17, 2026, at CityCentre Houston. The event raises funds and awareness for Child Advocates, an organization that speaks up for children in foster care who have experienced abuse and neglect. Since 2013 the run has helped raise over $1,200,000 for Houston's fight against child abuse.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K timed fun run/walk
- Kids 1K
The 1K finishes with a small medal for each child finisher. The 5K includes chip timing and organized staging groups for safety, with separate corrals for timed runners, walkers, stroller participants, and dogs. Water stations are available along the 5K course and at the plaza, and first aid staff monitor the course. Photographers will be present and registrants have agreed to a photographic and video release; anyone with concerns can notify event staff. Parking is available in CityCentre garages with free parking on the day of the event. Temporary portable restrooms will be located near the Lifetime Fitness Spa on Town and Country Boulevard. Race results and awards for runners and costumes will be posted and announced after the race.
Child Advocates began work in 1984. Volunteer court-appointed advocates assist children by coordinating with foster parents, caseworkers, attorneys, and schools to support medical, psychological, and placement needs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
