Child Advocates 5K and 1K Superhero Run
The 14th annual Child Advocates Superhero Run will take place on October 17, 2026, at CITYCENTRE Houston in Houston, Texas. The event includes a chip-timed 5K and a 1K Kid's Run. A race awards ceremony and a costume raffle are scheduled to follow the 1K Kid's Run.
Registration opens April 22, 2026, and closes July 17, 2026. Registration fees listed are $25.00 for the 5K and $20.00 for the 1K Kid's Run. Sponsors named for the event include Group 1 Automotive and MRE Consulting.
Child Advocates recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who provide a voice for abused and neglected children in the Houston area. As Harris County’s Court Appointed Advocates program, the organization provides advocacy intended to help children exit foster care to a safe, permanent home more quickly. Volunteers maintain contact with everyone involved in a child’s case and make recommendations to judges about permanent placement. They also help ensure children receive needed medical and psychological care and provide ongoing personal support during the case.
