Empower Her Fun-5K
The third annual Chica Project EmpowerHer Fun-5K is scheduled for September 26, 2026, at Franklin Park Playstead (Pierpont Road, Boston MA 02119). The community event centers on walking and running in support of young women and girls of color and includes music, wellness activities, giveaways, and a raffle.
The outdoor course follows a paved route that consists of three loops around the Franklin Park Playstead and White Stadium area, totaling approximately 3.1 miles. Check-in, gathering activities, and the raffle take place on a grassy field. Participants may complete as many loops as they choose; the event is not a timed race.
Registration options and fees are listed for set windows: Early Bird (June 26 to August 2, 2026) $25; Regular (August 3 to September 25, 2026) $35; Day of event (September 26, 2026) $45; Virtual registration (June 26 to September 26, 2026) $35. Children ages five and under participate free and do not require registration. Eligible ticket types include an official event t-shirt; race bibs and t-shirts are available for on-site pickup during check-in.
The event is rain or shine; if severe weather forces cancellation, it will transition to a virtual experience with coordinated t-shirt distribution.
