About the race
The Chia Sisters Cross Triathlon is a multisport event on Sunday 15 November 2026 at Conifer Park, Rabbit Island, New Zealand. The venue uses the west end of the Rabbit Island beach reserve and includes forest trails for the mountain bike leg. The event is organised by Nelson Triathlon & Multisport Club.
Event facilities and race day arrangements include registration and bike racking on the morning of the race, a compulsory race briefing for all competitors, a post-race barbecue free to competitors, and a small spot-prizegiving. Entries close on Saturday 14 November 2026 at 23:59 (GMT+13). Race day entries incur a 50% extra penalty and receive no discounts. The Nelson Triathlon Club operates a no-refund policy for club events.
Race formats offered:
- Long (Sprint) Course: 750m swim / 15–20km mountain bike / 5km run
- Short Course: 250m swim / 8–10km mountain bike / 2.5km run
- Long (Sprint) Duathlon: 5km run / 15–20km mountain bike / 2.5km run
- Short Duathlon: 2.5km run / 8–10km mountain bike / 2.5km run
Competition rules note that current Triathlon NZ rules apply. Drafting is allowed on the bike leg; participants are asked not to use aero bars when drafting. The course is not closed to traffic and riders must keep left and ride single file unless passing. Entrants under 18 take part at a parent or guardian's discretion.
