About the race
The Chia Sisters Cross Triathlon is a multisport event at Conifer Park, Rabbit Island, New Zealand, held on Sunday 15 November 2026. The race uses the west end of the Rabbit Island beach reserve and includes forest trails for the mountain bike sections. A barbecue and a small prizegiving with spot prizes are planned for after the event.
Race formats offered:
- Long (Sprint) Course: 750m swim, 15–20km mountain bike, 5km run
- Short Course: 250m swim, 8–10km mountain bike, 2.5km run
- Long (Sprint) Duathlon: 5km run, 15–20km mountain bike, 2.5km run
- Short Duathlon: 2.5km run, 8–10km mountain bike, 2.5km run
Entries close 14 November 2026. Entry fees vary by category: online adult or team non-member NZD 30; adult club member NZD 20; student U18 non-member NZD 15; student U18 club member NZD 10. Pay-at-event is accepted with no discounts and race day entries incur a 50% penalty. The Nelson Triathlon Club operates a no-refund policy for club events.
Current Triathlon NZ competition rules apply. Drafting is allowed on the bike leg with restrictions on aero bar use; the course is not closed to traffic and riders must keep left and ride single file unless passing.
