About the race
The SpeedOn Olympic Triathlon, Duathlon and Multisport event is held at Rabbit Island, New Zealand on 17 January 2027, organised by the Nelson Triathlon & Multisport Club. Entrants can choose long or short formats across triathlon, duathlon and multisport (kayak, bike, run). A post-race barbecue for competitors and a small prizegiving with spot prizes is provided.
Race options include:
- Triathlon, long course: 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run
- Triathlon, short course: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Duathlon, long course: 5km run, 40km bike, 10km run
- Duathlon, short course: 2.5km run, 20km bike, 5km run
- Multisport, long course: 6km kayak, 40km bike, 10km run
- Multisport, short course: 3km kayak, 20km bike, 5km run
Entry fees and discounts are listed for adults, club members, and U18 students, with options to pay online or at the event; race-day entries attract a 50% surcharge and no discounts. Nelson Triathlon Club operates a no-refund policy on club events. Current Triathlon New Zealand competition rules apply. Drafting is allowed on the bike leg; participants must observe on-course rules, keep left on open roads, ride single file unless passing, and attend the compulsory race briefing.
