Chestnut Chase - November 8, 2026
Chestnut Chase is a trail 10K held at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park in Canton, NC. The course starts with an approximately 600-foot climb in the first two miles on Papertown Express, continues over rolling hills on the Old Timer trail, and finishes with a downhill return to the trailhead.
There is one aid station located at the intersection of the lollipop course, first passed near mile 1.5 and later near mile 4.6. Water, light snacks, and backcountry medical support will be available at that station. Timing is manual; bibs will not be chipped and must be worn visibly for visual confirmation of finishers.
Parking is available on site and is supported by the Town of Canton. Participants should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early to pick up bibs and prepare for the event. Registration closes on Fri, Nov 6 at 11:59 PM ET and the listed entry fee is $33.50.
All proceeds from this fundraising event will support NCMTR and the Chestnut Mountain Foundation. NCMTR is a member-supported nonprofit that advocates for and maintains trails and organizes club events; it is part of the RUN828 Foundation. The Chestnut Mountain property is a 450-acre park purchased in 2020 for habitat protection and outdoor recreation; the park includes Berm Park, a mountain biking area.
