The 30th Annual Chestertown Tea Party Distance Classic Race and Run for Radcliffe
The Chestertown Tea Party Distance Classic combines community running with fundraising for Radcliffe Creek School, a K to 8 school on Maryland’s Eastern Shore that serves students with learning differences. The event takes place in Chestertown and traditionally helps kick off the town’s Annual Tea Party Festival on May 23, 2026. Participants run or walk courses that pass through Wilmer Park and the Kent County countryside.
The run offers two distances:
- 5K
- 10-mile
Proceeds support Radcliffe Creek School’s need-based scholarship fund. The fund has been the principal purpose of the race for nearly 30 years and supports more than 70 percent of the current student body. The school provides research-backed, multi-sensory and customized instruction for students with learning differences, including dyslexia and ADHD, and serves families across multiple counties and zip codes.
The event maintains a tiered sponsorship structure with Corporate and Family & Friends options. Sponsors have contributed at varied levels; collectively they donated over $26,000 to the scholarship fund in the most recent year. The race attracts hundreds of runners and walkers and is presented alongside local festival activities in Chestertown. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
