Chestertown Challenge Half Marathon Run and 5K Run/Walk
The Chestertown Challenge is a community road event held at Wilmer Park in Chestertown, Maryland. The event offers multiple distance options and supports the Kent Association of Riding Therapy (KART), an organization founded in 1984 that provides therapeutic horseback riding, barn management, and horse care programs for children and adults with disabilities.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon: 13.1 Miles
- 5K Run: 3.1 Miles
- 5K Walk: 3.1 Miles
The course begins and ends at Wilmer Park and runs on paved country roads with gentle rolling terrain. Water stops are placed at roughly every two miles on the Half Marathon, at the 5K turnaround, and at the start and finish. Restrooms are available at the start and finish and along the Half Marathon route. Mile markers, directional arrows, and police controlled roads help guide participants.
Packet pickup and race day registration are available on race morning. Tech shirts are guaranteed to participants who register by Monday, September 30th. Food and refreshments will be available at the finish. Awards are given to overall male and female winners and to top finishers in 10 year age groups, with separate awards for the 5K walk.
Spectators can visit historic Chestertown sites along the Chester River. Lodging options are available in the Chestertown and Rock Hall area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
