2026 Essar Chester Half Marathon Fun Run
The Essar Chester Half Marathon Fun Run takes place on 17 May 2026 at Chester Racecourse (Chester Race Co Ltd, Watergate Street, CH1 2LY). The route is conducted wholly within the racecourse and is approximately one mile long, with start and finish at the main race start area.
The event is aimed primarily at children but is open to anyone who wishes to take part. Parents, guardians and grandparents may also enter; adults who plan to run with a child must register themselves to help control numbers. Places are limited.
Each participant receives a souvenir race T-shirt and race number, and all finishers get a bespoke medal, a bottle of water and a small treat. T-shirt sizes are issued on a first come first served basis because sizes were ordered from previous events.
The listed entry cost is £10 and includes a £1 donation to the Official Event Charity, Hospice of the Good Shepherd. Additional booking fees or optional donations may increase the total cost. The event is described as a fun run with no official timings or competitive prizes.
Entries are non refundable and not transferable. If the organiser postpones or cancels the event, race places will be deferred to the next scheduled date free of charge.
