2027 Essar Chester Half Marathon
The Essar Chester Half Marathon is scheduled for 16 May 2027 and marks the 45th edition of this race. It is organised by Active Leisure Events Ltd and serves as a qualifier for the England Athletics Age Group Masters Championships. The event base is Chester Racecourse, Watergate Street, CH1 2LY, UK.
The race features a city centre start and finish and a route that passes city centre sights and surrounding countryside. Local supporters line the course. The event is measured by the AUKCM and is held under UK Athletics rules.
Before race day participants receive access to training plans, advice and free training runs, plus a personalised race pack including a race number and timing chip posted to UK runners; overseas runners collect numbers from the Help Desk on race weekend. Free runner to runner transfers are available before the event and UKA affiliated runners receive a £2 discount at checkout.
On race day runners receive a complimentary technical T-shirt, a bespoke medal and a goody bag, or may choose the Green Runner option in which the cost of these items is donated to the official race charity. The event provides prizes for the top three men and women and age group winners, free official photos, on-course hydration and nutrition, medical support and a live tracking service. Entry prices include a Special rate of £41.60 and a Standard rate of £52.00. The minimum age on race day is 17. Entries are non refundable and cannot be deferred.
