Chesapeake Patriot 5K Run and 1K Walk - Middle River, MD
The Chesapeake Patriot event on 11/07/2026 takes place at Gunpowder Falls State Park - Hammerman Area, 7200 Graces Quarters Road, Middle River, MD 21220, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. The event offers two course options:
- 5K Run
- 1K Walk
Both distances are chip-timed using professional RFID timing equipment; results are posted at the event and published online, with options to print a certificate and view a finish line video link. The course is paved and mostly flat, with a small downgrade at the start and a small upgrade near the end. The event is held rain or shine.
Registration is available for individuals and teams; the registration fee is $35 per participant. Awards are given to winning runners and by age groups, and awards are provided for walkers. A commemorative shirt is provided to participants, guaranteed for the first 300 entrants; a new shirt design is planned for the year. Participants may nominate a high school for a scholarship; top vote recipients from event entries will help determine scholarship recipients.
Proceeds benefit the Chesapeake Bay Association, Inc. for environmental support programs and scholarships for graduates.
