The 17th Annual Chesapeake City New Years Day 5k takes place on January 1, 2026 in Chesapeake City, Maryland. Registration notes: a pre-registration price is listed as $25, children 11 and under are discounted ($15 applied at checkout), and race day registration is available for $30. Prices increase after December 22. Register by December 22 to receive a commemorative medal.
Course and rules: the course is described as fast and flat and is wheel measured. No baby strollers are allowed in the run portion. No dogs are allowed due to insurance liability. Bibs are non-transferable and registrations are non-refundable.
Amenities and awards: post-race refreshments will be available. Overall male and female winners are scored by gun time; other age groups are scored by chip (net) time. Awards include overall winners, oldest male and female finisher, top three in listed age groups, and top three male and female walkers. Parking is available under the bridge at 3rd Street.
