17th Annual Chesapeake City New Years Day 5k
The event takes place on January 1, 2026, in Chesapeake City, Maryland, at 108 Bohemia Avenue near Town Hall. It is the 17th edition and benefits Chesapeake City’s Recycling Program. The course is wheel measured and described as fast and flat through town.

Logistics, fees and awards
Pre-registration has a base fee of $25; children 11 and under are charged $15 (discount applied at checkout). Race day registration is available for $30. Prices listed include mandatory charges and fees. Registrants who register by December 22 receive a commemorative medal. Post-race refreshments will be provided. Parking is available under the bridge at 3rd Street.
Race rules note that no baby strollers are allowed in the run portion and no dogs are permitted due to insurance liability. Bibs are non-transferable and registrations are non-refundable. Overall male and female winners are scored by gun time; other age-group awards use chip (net) time. Awards include overall male and female winners, oldest male and female finisher, top three male and female in specified age groups, and top three male and female walkers.
