Cherokee 5K Turkey Strut
The Cherokee 5K Turkey Strut is a community run and walk held at Kituwah Mound in Bryson City, NC, and hosted by Cherokee Choices. The event offers both an in-person on-site option and a DIY virtual option that lets participants complete a 5K at a convenient location and submit results for a casual online listing.
Event offerings include:
- 5K (3.11 miles)
- Kids Fun Run
Entry fees and donations are specified in the event information. Standard adult entry is $15, with reduced fees of $5 for children 12 and under and for elders 60 and older; an increased adult fee applies after a stated date. Donations of $50 or more make entry free, and all net proceeds benefit Sunrise Community for Recovery and Wellness.
Results and awards are part of the in-person 5K. Awards include top three overall male and female finishers, plus age group awards scored by male and female placements across multiple age divisions including 8 and under through 61 and over.
The in-person course starts and finishes at Kituwah Mound. The DIY option allows participants to run or walk on roads, trails, tracks, or treadmills and submit times for inclusion in online results during the event window. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
