Event overview
The Cherokee 5K Turkey Strut is scheduled for November 22, 2025, in Bryson City, North Carolina, with activities centered at Kituwah Mound, 3831 Ela Rd. The event is hosted by Cherokee Choices. All net proceeds will benefit Sunrise Community for Recovery and Wellness. Two participation options are offered: an on-site 5K and a DIY 5K (virtual) held in mid-November.

Format, fees and awards
The on-site 5K starts and finishes at Kituwah Mound. The DIY 5K allows participants to run or walk at any location and submit a time for online results. Participants registered for the on-site event may switch to the DIY option.
Entry fees shown in event materials include an adult fee of $15 with a higher fee after early November, and a reduced fee of $5 for children 12 and under and for adults 60 and over. Donations of $50 or more make entry free. Awards include top three overall male and female finishers and top three male and female in the following age groups: 8 & Under, 9-12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-50, 51-60, and 61+.
