Cherokee 5K Turkey Strut
The Cherokee 5K Turkey Strut is scheduled for November 21, 2026, at Kituwah Mound, 3831 Ela Rd, Bryson City, North Carolina. The event is hosted by Cherokee Choices and includes a community 5K and a separate kids fun run. The course starts and finishes at the Kituwah Mound.

Registration for the 5K opens July 1, 2026, and closes September 30, 2026. Kids Fun Run registration opens July 1, 2026, and remains available through race day. Entry fees vary by category: adult registration is $15 with a higher fee after October 1, while children 12 and under and participants 60 and older have a $5 fee. The Kids Fun Run fee is $5. Donations of $50 or more waive the entry fee.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. The 5K is scored by age group with top-three male and female awards in these groups: 8 & Under, 9-12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-50, 51-60, and 61+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
