Event Details

The Cherokee Choices Mother's Day 5K is a running and walking event held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Kituwah Mound in Bryson City, North Carolina.

Course & Location

The course uses roads, farm roads, and trails through the historic Kituwah Mound site. Kituwah Mound is described as the Mother Town of the Cherokee People, an area of farmland returned to the community within the last 25 years.

Registration & Fees

Registration fees are tiered:

  • Adults: $15 until May 1, then $20.
  • Youth (1-12) and Elders (59+): $10.

All proceeds benefit the Richard (Yogi) Crowe Scholarship Fund. A donation of $50 or more provides free race entry. All participants receive an event shirt.

Awards

Awards are given for the 5K distance. The top three overall male and female finishers are recognized, as are the top three males and females in multiple age groups starting from 8 & Under to 61+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
