Chernisky Classic
The Chernisky Classic is scheduled for July 11, 2026 in Ebensburg, PA. The event features out-and-back running courses on the Ghost Town Trail and includes a free Firecracker Race for children age 8 and under. Firetrucks and firefighters will attend to greet and interact with kids. One hundred percent of proceeds support the Training Facility of the Cambria County Regional Firefighters Association.
The event offers same-day packet pick-up and race day registration at the Young People’s Community Center, 300 Prave Street, Ebensburg. Cold water stations are available at the start and along the trail; restrooms are located at the start/finish at the Young People’s Community Center. The 5K and 10K courses are clearly marked and 5K participants pass a water station at the turnaround while 10K participants pass water twice. Official timing is provided for the competitive group start and prizes are awarded to the top five male and female finishers in each running event. Commemorative race shirts or tank tops are included with registration and the first 400 finishers receive a voucher to a Johnstown Tomahawks game for the 2026-2027 season.
