Chernisky Classic
The Chernisky Classic is a community running event held in Ebensburg, PA on July 11, 2026. It features out and back courses on the Ghost Town Trail, a nationally recognized rail-trail named the 2020 DCNR Trail of the Year. The event includes races for adults and a free Firecracker Race for children eight and under. Firetrucks and firefighters will be present to greet and interact with children.
Race amenities include cold water at the start and finish area and on the trail, marked courses, and restrooms at the Young People’s Community Center at 300 Prave Street. Same-day packet pick-up and race day registration are available. Participants who choose to start early will not be officially timed or eligible for prizes. Competitive starters are officially timed and prizes are awarded to the top five male and top five female finishers in the 5K and 10K running events. The first 400 finishers receive a voucher to a local hockey game. One hundred percent of proceeds benefit the Training Facility of the Cambria County Regional Firefighters Association.
