Cheltenham Running Festival
The Cheltenham Running Festival takes place at the Cheltenham Racecourse, located on Evesham Road in Prestbury. Participants run on a tarmac surface around the perimeter and infield of this historic sporting venue, which provides views of the surrounding Cotswold Hills. The event utilizes a chip-timing system for all participants, with every mile of the course clearly marked.
The event offers several individual race distances to accommodate different preferences:
- Half Marathon: A four-lap, out-and-back course with a total elevation of 120 meters.
- 10k: A two-lap course with a total elevation of 60 meters.
- 5k: A single-lap course with a total elevation of 30 meters.
- Junior Race: A shorter distance on tarmac with 3 meters of elevation.
The race environment includes marshals stationed along the route and an event village featuring various food and drink options. Every participant receives a themed medal, professional race photos available for download at no extra cost, and post-race refreshments. While registration does not automatically include a garment, technical t-shirts with the event logo are available for purchase separately.
