Cheltenham Running Festival
The Cheltenham Running Festival takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse on Sunday 14 June 2026. The event offers chip timed races around the racecourse and includes a juniors race on the day.
The event distances are:
- 5k, one lap
- 10k, two laps
- Half Marathon, four laps
Race packs include a timing chip that slots into the shoe laces to record start and finish for an accurate chip timed result. Official results are published on RunThrough results and the majority of times are shown on RunBritain and Power of 10. Runners receive a post race email with their result.
The course is a flat 5k loop within the grounds of Cheltenham Racecourse. The surface is mostly tarmac with some gravel and soft sections. The course is not suitable for wheelchair or buggy running. Bottled water is located at the 5k mark; 10k runners pass this station once and half marathon runners pass it three times. A bottle of water is also available at the finish.
Practical arrangements include registration tents in the event village for race number and chip collection, and an informal baggage system in a building in the event village. The racecourse provides a large free car park. Dogs are not permitted on the race course but may spectate in the event village on a lead. Minimum ages are 11 for the 5k, 15 for the 10k and 17 for the Half Marathon. Entries close 48 hours before the event and on-day entries may be available if the race has not sold out. Refunds are not offered; entries may be transferred with advance notice and possible administration fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
