Cheltenham Running Festival
Cheltenham Running Festival takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse on 20 June 2027. The event offers chip timed road races around the racecourse and includes a kids race. It is organised by RunThrough Events.
Available distances
- 5k: 1 lap within the racecourse grounds.
- 10k: 2 laps of the same loop.
- Half Marathon: 4 laps of the loop.
- Kids race also hosted on the day.
Race information notes that all race packs include a timing chip that slots into the shoe laces to record start and finish times. The 5k loop is described as flat and mostly tarmac, with some sections of gravel and soft surface; the course is not suitable for wheelchair or buggy use.
On-course and event facilities include bottled water at the 5k mark (passed once on the 10k and three times on the half marathon) and a bottle of water at the finish. Race numbers and chips are issued from registration tents in the event village. An informal baggage system operates from a building in the event village using a tag attached to the race number. Cheltenham Racecourse provides a large free car park.
Minimum ages are 11 for the 5k, 15 for the 10k, and 17 for the half marathon. Entries close 48 hours before the event, with specific rules for Sunday events; refunds are not offered, but transfers are possible under the published conditions.
