Cheltenham Race for Education 2026
The Cheltenham Race for Education is an annual community event organized by Cheltenham Township Parks and Recreation. Now in its third year, the event serves as a fundraiser for the Cheltenham Education Foundation. The proceeds from the race are used to fund scholarships for graduating high school seniors and to support classroom innovation through teacher grants across the Cheltenham School District.
The event takes place at Elkins Park School, with the course leading participants along the Tookany Creek Parkway. The race is professionally timed and is open to participants of all ages and abilities, including runners and walkers. Parking is available in the main lot at Elkins Park School on Kingston Road, as well as in a secondary lot located off New Second Street.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km run
- 2 mile walk
The event accepts individual registrations as well as team entries for groups of four or more people. All participants receive a race t-shirt while supplies last. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female runners. Additionally, medals are awarded to the top male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from students as young as six to adults over sixty-five. The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
