Cheltenham Race for Education 2026
The Cheltenham Race for Education is a community fundraising event held at Elkins Park School on Kingston Road at New Second Street in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. The event is organized by Cheltenham Township Parks & Recreation for the benefit of the Cheltenham Education Foundation and is held rain or shine.
The event program includes a professionally timed 5K race and a 2 mile walk along Tookany Creek Parkway. Race day features live music from a DJ and a pep band, and Stretch Zone staff offer free 10 minute stretch sessions to participants before the race. All registered participants receive a commemorative T shirt while supplies last.
Registration fees are tiered; student registration for ages 5 and up is listed at $10 and adult fees range from $30 to $40 depending on registration period. Teams may be formed for the event, with teams of four or more noted in the event information. Parking is available in the main lot at Elkins Park School on Kingston Road and in the lot off New Second Street beside the modular building.
Proceeds support scholarships for graduating seniors and K to 12 classroom innovation through teacher grants in the Cheltenham School District. Awards recognize the top three overall male and female finishers and top male and female finishers in the following age groups: 6–12, 13–17, 18–34, 35–49, 50–64, and 65 plus.
