Chelmsford Half Marathon
Chelmsford hosts a road-closed running event that includes a half marathon and shorter distances, with the finish at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford. The route passes along Parkway, Essex Yeomanry Way and Chelmer Village Way on closed roads and is measured by the Association of UK Course Measures.

Entries include a fully signposted course with more than 300 signs, chip timing, an XXL metal medal, water stations on course and snacks at the finish, a purple carpet finish and on-course entertainment plus a festival music stage at the finish village. Professional photographers provide photos on a complimentary basis. The event is UKA registered and uses a qualified traffic management team with dedicated traffic vehicles, operatives, cones and signs.
Medical, safety and logistics arrangements noted include first aid teams and response vehicles, CQC ambulances, security and stewards, event infrastructure such as gazebos, pedestrian barriers and fencing, and a large event team supported by a weeklong build and hired vehicles.
Ticketing is released in capped allocations with varying prices per release and a £2 discount for England Athletics members. Applications from wheelchair athletes and from runners with buggies are considered individually and are subject to risk assessment; age rules apply for passengers and final approval rests with the Race Director.
