Chelmsford Half Marathon
Chelmsford hosts a road closed running event with multiple distances, finishing at Anglia Ruskin University in CM1 1SQ. The course runs along Parkway, Essex Yeomanry Way and Chelmer Village Way on closed roads and is measured by the Association of UK Course Measures.
Entries include race timing with chip timing, over 300 course signs, water stations on the course, snacks at the finish, a purple carpet finish, event music and on course entertainment, professional photographers, a metal finish medal, first aid and CQC ambulance cover, security and stewards, and event infrastructure such as barriers, cones and signage. England Athletics members receive a £2 entry discount.
Ticket allocation is managed in releases with set capacities and increasing prices. Release one is sold out (Half £33.00, 10K £23.50, 1500 max). Later releases list higher prices including release two (Half £49.50, 10K £35.25), release three (Half £59.40, 10K £35.25), release four (Half £66.00, 10K £47.00) and a final surge pricing release.
Wheelchair and buggy participation is considered individually and subject to a race day risk assessment and declaration on the medical form. Wheelchair entries for the Half must meet a four hour cut off and confirm they can safely navigate a narrow bridge section; final approval rests with the Race Director.
