Overview
The Cheeky Monkey 24 is a 24-hour team relay race. Teams can choose to participate in a 4-person relay or an 8-person relay. The event takes place at Veterans Park in Plain Township, Ohio.
Course
The course is a one-mile loop on a hard-packed limestone surface, typical of a bike and hike trail. The loop is run counter-clockwise. It begins with an ascent known as "Gorilla Hill," followed by a long downhill section for the next 0.8 miles, with a gradual incline over the final 0.1 mile back to the start/finish area.
Team Details
Teams are given autonomy over how they divide the running distance among members; some runners may choose to run one mile at a time, while others may run several miles consecutively. Teams are not required to stay for the full 24 hours. Each team is provided a 10x10 foot space to set up a tent or team site.
Participant Perks and Awards
Participants receive an event shirt, a finisher medal, and food during the event. Awards are given to the top team in several categories: Open Men, Masters Men, Open Women, Masters Women, Open Coed, and Masters Coed. A Masters team is defined as having all runners over the age of 40. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
