Event Overview

The Chedworth Roman Trail is a 10 mile multi-terrain race set in the Cotswold countryside. The course consists of a single lap that takes participants through Stowell Park and the Coln Valley. The route passes near the Chedworth Roman Villa and utilizes a variety of surfaces, including undulating tracks, footpaths, and fields. A river crossing is also featured as part of the course.

The race is centered at Chedworth Village Hall, located north of Cirencester. This site serves as the race headquarters and acts as both the start and finish location. Facilities available at the headquarters include parking, toilets, limited showers, and refreshments.

Race Format and Regulations

The event has a total capacity of 500 places. It is a multi-terrain run and is not suitable for walkers. A maximum finishing time limit of 2 hours and 30 minutes is enforced to manage participant safety. Specific entry regulations include:

  • 10 miles: A single lap course through fields, footpaths, and a river.

The event does not permit Canicross entrants. Awards are presented to the first three male and female finishers, as well as winners in age categories ranging from V40 to V70 for both men and women. There are also awards for the first male and female teams, alongside general finisher awards.

Registration is open to both members of UKA affiliated clubs and unaffiliated runners. Online entries remain open until the Friday preceding the event or until the capacity is reached. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
