About the race
The CHCF Hispanic Heritage 5K Run/Walk is a community road event held at Flushing Meadows Corona Park on October 3, 2026, presented by the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families. The event supports CHCF’s mission to strengthen education and services for children and youth in New York City.
Two participation formats are offered:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Virtual 5K, Oct 3 to Oct 10
Finishers receive a medal. Personalized bibs are available when participants register at least three weeks before the event; a bib-mailing add on is also offered for earlier registrants. The course starts and finishes near the Queens Theater and the Fountain of the Planets and is USATF certified.
On-site amenities include free finish line photos, live text and email results, hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by Waterloo Sparkling Water. Bathrooms are a short walk from the start and finish. An informal area for race belongings will be available but the event organization does not assume responsibility for personal items.
Age group recognition is awarded for top finishers overall and across standard age brackets for female, male, and X non-binary categories. Registration fees are non-refundable and terms outline participant waivers; optional purchase protection is available for qualifying unforeseen circumstances.
