Chateau Meichtry 5K

The Chateau Meichtry 5K takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Talking Rock, Georgia (1862 Orchard Lane, 30175). The event is the fourth annual running and the second year held at the winery. Registration is listed at $35, with a later price increase scheduled after March 29, 2026. The race starts and finishes on the Chateau Meichtry Family Vineyard & Winery property near Ellijay, in North Georgia wine country.

Course and event details

The course uses mostly paved rural roads around the winery, with some gravel through the parking lot at the start. A course map is provided by the organizer. The venue is in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and offers indoor and outdoor seating.

After the 5K there is a wine garden finish area with live music, one 5 oz wine sample for participants aged 21 and over, and tacos included. Additional wine and beer are available for purchase. All finishers receive a custom 5K medal and a dry-fit short sleeve t-shirt. Raffle prizes are offered, and proceeds from the event will support Ellijay Paws in Need.
