Chasing Rainbows 5k

Chasing Rainbows 5k is a community run, walk, or stroll held on October 18, 2026 in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina at 102 Veteran's Drive (Kill Devil Hills Aviation Park). The event is the fourth annual charity race that raises awareness for Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Awareness Month and supports families affected by pregnancy and infant loss.

All proceeds will go to the Chasing Rainbows Foundation to fund free grief counseling for Outer Banks families, grief support toolkits for those recently experiencing loss, and the development of online and in-person spaces where families can connect and share their stories. The foundation provides education, teaches self advocacy skills, and offers resources to help families cope and prepare for subsequent pregnancies.

The event includes two participation options: an in-person Social 5k with a mapped course that leaves Aviation Park and follows Veterans Drive (turns into 6th St), Airstrip St, 8th Ave, W Martin St, Boundary St, Old Nags Head Woods Rd, and Lake Ridge Ct for a turnaround; and a Virtual 5k option in which participants complete a 5k on their own, record their time, and submit results.
