Chasing Rainbows 5k
Chasing Rainbows 5k is a charity community run and walk on October 18, 2026, in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. The event supports Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Awareness Month and raises funds for the Chasing Rainbows Foundation.
The event includes multiple options:
- 5K : Social 5k and Virtual 5k, registration fee $35.
- 1 Mile : 1 Mile Fun Run, registration fee $25.
In-person activities take place at Kill Devil Hills Aviation Park, 102 Veteran's Drive. Shirt and bib pick-up are available at the race location the morning of the event. The Social 5k course begins at the Aviation Park and follows Veterans Drive/6th Street, Airstrip Street, 8th Avenue, W Martin Street, Boundary Street, Old Nags Head Woods Road, and Lake Ridge Court for the turnaround, then returns to the Aviation Park along the same route.
The event directs all proceeds to the Chasing Rainbows Foundation. Funds are used for free grief counseling for Outer Banks families, grief support toolkits, and the creation of online and in-person spaces for families to connect and share. The foundation provides education, self-advocacy skills, and support for families affected by pregnancy and infant loss. The event was created in memory of the organizer's child who passed in 2019.
