Chase the Rainbow 5K Run/Walk
Chase the Rainbow is a 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk held at Bridgeway Station in Simpsonville, SC. The course is paved and described as flat and fast with one bridge climb before joining the Swamp Rabbit Trail; the route features shamrock decorations along the path. Parking at Bridgeway Station is free and within sight of the start and finish areas. Restrooms are available at Bridgeway Station.
Packet pickup begins 90 minutes before the race at Bridgeway Station. A pre-run beer is offered at pickup, and water is provided at the finish. Participants 21 and over receive complimentary beer at the finish. The event provides chip timing with live results, professional race photos, a custom race bib, a finisher medal for all finishers, and additional items such as a custom race tattoo, event-themed giveaways, a race sticker, and a hydration sample.
Awards include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and age group medals for first through third in 15 age categories. The race is part of the Upstate Giving Series and donates proceeds to local nonprofits. Dogs and headphones are allowed on course. There is no gear check; however vehicles can remain in view near the venue. Race-day registration is available via mobile device. Packets cannot be picked up by someone else.
