Chase the Butterfly Family 5K and Kids Fun Run - May 2, 2026
This event consists of a 5K road race and a Kids Fun Run hosted at New England Biolabs, 240 County Road, Ipswich, MA. The event supports Ipswich Family YMCA programs and collaborates with the CureCMT4J Foundation. Fundraising is organized into named levels with suggested totals including Chrysalis, Caterpillar ($50), Butterfly ($100), and Flight! ($250).
The course is stroller friendly and allows well behaved dogs. Timing is provided by Bay State Race Services. Results are posted at the finish and emailed to participants. Awards include medals for overall 1st place male and female, age group medals for top three in multiple age divisions, open category medals for top three non-binary and top three wheelchair finishers, and special prizes for first place Ipswich residents.
Logistics include free on-site parking in the garage and surface lots. Bib and shirt pick-up is available the day before at the Ipswich Family YMCA and on race day at New England Biolabs. Shirts are distributed while supplies last. The event follows a no-refund policy; all sales are final.
Additional on-site activities around the finish area include live music, food from a local truck, and complimentary beer or nonalcoholic beverages for attendees aged 21 and over with ID.
