Charlie Horse Trail Half-Marathon & Dirty Pony 5K : Mohnton, PA, May 24, 2026
The event offers two races on a mixed terrain course that benefits Berks County Special Olympics. The majority of the half marathon runs on the Horse-Shoe Trail in Brecknock Township and combines single-track trail, short road sections, and additional trail loops near the Brecknock Township Municipal Office and Plowville. The Plowville section includes rocky and muddy terrain.
The course is supported by three aid stations. There is a cut-off at Aid Station #3 at approximately 10 miles; after that the sweepers and aid station crew will determine who may continue. Entries for the half marathon are limited to 300. Availability of half marathon shirts cannot be guaranteed for registrations after May 1, 2026. Online preregistration closes on 2026-05-21; day of registration is available for both races.
The event includes post race food and beverages for participants who present their bibs. The half marathon awards include overall placements and age group awards; all participants in the Dirty Pony receive finisher swag and awards. The Charlie Horse serves as the first race in the Triple Trail Challenge 50.3 series and the Dirty Pony starts the Triple Trail Starter Pack series.
