About the race
The Charlevoix Hot Cocoa Run includes two running events in Charlevoix, Michigan, and aims to raise funds for the Charlevoix Rayder Den and Charlevoix Elementary School holiday food bags.
Distances
- 5K course starts near the First Congregational Church (purple door on park), proceeds toward the hospital on Park, turns right onto Lakeshore Drive, continues toward the plant, then turns around and returns.
- 1 mile fun run starts on Ferry Avenue, runs roughly half a mile out and returns.
Registration for the 5K opens September 1, 2026; registration for the 1 mile fun run opens October 15, 2026. Both events close registration on December 5, 2026. Entry fees are $15.00 for the 5K and $10.00 for the 1 mile fun run.
Participants may pick up bibs the morning of the event or at Charlevoix Running Company on the Friday before the race. The 5K is not officially timed; a clock will be present at the finish. The 1 mile fun run awards each finisher a mug for cocoa. Downtown Charlevoix will feature a hot chocolate tasting from 12:00 to 16:00 on the event day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
