Event Overview

The Charlesworth Chase is a fell running race organized by the Wharfedale Harriers club. The event takes place from the Craven Arms in Appletreewick, North Yorkshire.

Course Details

The course is an out-and-back route to Simons Seat. The distance is approximately 5.2 miles (8.3 km) with an ascent of 1200 ft (366 m). The race starts on the road, goes across a field and down a track toward the river. Participants follow the river to Howgill, then ascend a forest road before turning left onto a rough path to the fell. The route goes directly up to Simons Seat, where runners must touch the trig point before returning the same way.

Practical Information

Registration opens from 10.00 am outside the Craven Arms in Appletreewick (BD23 6DA). The race is for seniors only (over 18). The entry fee is £10, which includes the race and a drink.
