Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series
The Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series is a four-race series held at James Island County Park in Charleston, SC. Each race comprises three legs:
- 600-yard freshwater swim
- 12-mile bike ride
- 5K flat run
Registration is $70 per person and closes on the Wednesday before each race; there is no race-day registration. Packet pick-up is available on-site from 6-7 a.m. on race day. Participants receive one t-shirt per series. An on-site award ceremony follows each race.
Participants must be comfortable swimming in open water and riding a bicycle on roads open to traffic. Races use wave starts; bibs are required, body marking is not offered, and lost-bib penalties will be enforced. Water stations will be set up on course, and participants are encouraged to bring pre-filled water bottles and equipment for on-site bike repairs.
Course maps are provided for the run and bike routes, and additional race details cover divisions, awards, the series championship, and race guidelines. The series has drawn more than 30,000 participants over the years and has been recognized as one of the Top Ten Charleston Signature Sport Events by the Charleston Metro Sports Council. The event includes an event cancellation and refund policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
