Charles River Marathon Invitational (CRMI)
The Charles River Marathon Invitational is a marathon held at Herter Park in Boston, MA on September 13, 2026. The race uses a USATF certified course (MA23005JK) that runs along the Charles River and is eligible as a Boston Marathon qualifier.
The marathon is ten laps of a 2.6 mile paved loop. The route is primarily flat with a short, roughly 50 foot climb and sharp left to cross the Eliot Bridge. Portable toilets are placed at several points on the loop and at the start/finish area.
Entry is offered in two categories. BQ+20 entrants must have completed a certified marathon since January 1, 2024 within 20 minutes of their 2027 Boston qualifying time; only certified full marathons count for eligibility. A limited number of time waived fundraiser entries are available; fundraiser entrants must raise at least $1,000 by August 15, 2026 or forfeit their entry. Entry fees are non refundable. Race entry includes a finisher medal, an embroidered hat, and a CRM shirt.
Course support includes three hydration stations supplying sports drink and spring water, a self serve bring your own bottle station with labeling rules, and on course fuel in specified locations. Pacers may be provided but must be official entrants or registered pacers and are capped at seven laps. Race rules prohibit dogs, strollers, and in ear or over ear headphones. Time limits apply: 4 hours 30 minutes for runners age 59 and under and 5 hours for runners age 60 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
