Event Overview
The 16th Annual Character Chase 5K is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Hamburg, New York. The event is a certified 5K run.
Course and Location
The race will start and finish at the SS Peter & Paul Social Center/Gym at 68 East Main Street in Hamburg. The course is USATF certified and takes participants through tree-lined streets in the village. The starting line is on Pine Street.
Registration and Fees
Registration includes a 5K individual event and a Team Challenge for four participants. Online registration remains open until the race start. Race-day registration and packet pickup are available at the social center/gym from 7:30 AM.
- 5K Registration: $25, increasing to $30 on race day.
- Team Challenge: $80, increasing to $100 on race day.
Participants who register by April 24, 2026, are guaranteed a dry-fit race shirt in their requested size. An early packet pickup option is offered on Friday, May 8, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
Awards and Timing
The awards ceremony occurs after all runners finish. Trophies are presented to the first-place overall male and female 5K finishers and to the fastest team of four. Custom age awards are given to the top three male and female runners in multiple age groups, from 9 and under to 80 and older. Professional RFID timing is provided, with real-time results available via a mobile app, kiosk, or website.
Additional Information
A post-race party with live music is planned at the SS Peter & Paul Social Center/Gym. Free parking is available within walking distance of the start/finish line. The event has a no-refund policy, with organizers reserving the right to postpone, reschedule, or offer a virtual alternative if necessary.
