The Champions Run for Special Children
The Champions Run for Special Children is a superhero-themed fundraising event in Anderson, South Carolina, presented as a certified 5K run/walk/roll and a 1 mile fun run. The event marks its 12th anniversary and benefits children living with different-abilities and special needs through The Champions Center for special children.

Registration opens March 14, 2026 and closes February 26, 2027. The standard 5K registration fee is $25. Teams of five or more receive a discounted rate of $20 per person. The 1 Mile Fun Run is listed with no registration fee.
Awards are given to individuals and teams. Team prizes recognize the largest participating groups by category such as family, sorority or fraternity, business, school, and church, plus awards for best team costume and most team spirited. Individual awards for male and female competitors cover overall, masters (50+), and multiple age divisions from under 10 through 70 and over, along with best costume awards for adults and children.
The Champions Center provides daily care and educational and therapeutic services for children with conditions listed as Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Hydrocephalus, Muscular Dystrophy, Cystic Fibrosis, genetic conditions, and developmental delays.
