The Champions Run for Special Children
The Champions Run for Special Children is a superhero-themed, certified 5K run/walk/roll with an accompanying 1 Mile fun run held in Anderson, SC at 2404 SC Hwy 81. The event marks its 12th anniversary and presents individual and team awards on race day. Packet pickup is available race morning at the check-in table near the start and finish, and bibs are assigned at check-in.
Proceeds support The Champions Center for special children, which provides daily care and educational and therapeutic services to children living with different-abilities and special needs. The center serves children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Hydrocephalus, Muscular Dystrophy, Cystic Fibrosis, various genetic conditions, and developmental delays.
Registration details are available through the event registration platform. The 5K has a registration fee of $25.00 and the 1 Mile fun run has no registration fee. Teams of five or more receive a discounted rate and a group option is available through the registration website or the organizer contact form. The event is part of the Upstate Giving Series and counts toward the series standings.
The race operates in all weather except in cases of unsafe conditions such as lightning. All registrations are final and nonrefundable. Parking is available at the venue with guidance from posted signs and volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
