International Triathlon in Quebec City
SAIL Challenge Québec is a prominent triathlon event within the Challenge Family global circuit. Held in Quebec City, the competition takes place in a setting recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, bridging European heritage with North American landscapes. The event features swimming in a basin, followed by flat cycling and running courses.
The event partners with the Huron-Wendat community of Wendake and hosts members of the Canadian Armed Forces. The Olympic distance serves as a focal point for the International Military Sports Council (CISM) competition.
Athletes can select from four different distances:
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run.
- Olympic: 1,500 m swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km run.
- Middle: 1,900 m swim, 90 km bike, and 21.1 km run.
- Long: 3,800 m swim, 180 km bike, and 42.2 km run.
Participation in the long-distance race provides a unique pathway for entry into the Europe-based Challenge Roth, with reserved spots and lottery opportunities for the following year.
